Quality Policy
"To understand the requirements of Mahatma Gandhi Central Library (MGCL) users' and continuously improve to deliver the best services that meets the requirements to achieve 100% satisfaction".
Our Commitments:We at Mahatma Gandhi Central Library shall strive to provide quality library and information services to its users by using state-of-the-art
information and communication technology, thus contributing to nation building on our part.
This policy shall be achieved by-
- Maintaining a quality system based on ISO 9001:2008.
- Achieving and sustaining a high degree of user satisfactionby .
- Continual improvement by data analysis based on data generated internally through survey and users feedback.
- Continual skill enhancement, motivation and encouragement of our human resources.
- Maintaining safe working environment and meeting all statutory requirements.
- Creating a balance scorecard with measurable objectives to achieve disciplined growth and enhancement of our ranking.
Quality Objectives
- Be a central source of information and provide services with speed and efficiency to satisfy all users, and to meet a satisfaction objective of 85%.
- Develop a quality system consistently across the MGCL with a goal to improve and develop at a rate of at least 5% annually.
- Resolve the complaints of users with speed and accuracy. If a section receives a complaint, the section must resolve the complaint within one week time period.
- Employ a number of employees within the MGCL, at any time, which will not be less than 75% of the total number of employees.
- To keep abreast with the latest technologies, competence and skills of at least 10% employees are upgraded every year through continuing education programs, training, interaction with academic institutions, industries and attending symposia & conferences.
- To take lead and promote cooperation and resource sharing between IITs libraries.
- Improve overall services in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 standards and other relevant standards.
- Creating congenial work environment by provision of required infrastructure, following '55 (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize & Sustain)' approach for better housekeeping and 100% safety procedures/regulations.
