MGCL regularly conducts conferences, seminars and training workshops to share the
technical skills& professional knowledge with the library fraternity around the globe. In
this process it has successfully conducted more than two dozen such International and
National programmes. The MGCL proudly and magnificently conducted 59 th ILA
International Conference during 22-24 Feb. 2014.
Present upcoming International Conference is aiming to give a platform to the target
participants to share their views and ideas pertaining to the conference theme. The main objective of this conference is to lay down the blueprint for academic libraries
management for the coming decade covering all the aspects of management.

Call For Papers
Original contributions based on practice, theoretical and empirical research, case
studies etc. are invited on the theme and subthemes. Please submit your abstract/paper
through email at conference.mgcliitr@gmail.com. All papers will go through a process
of blind review by a panel of experts and check for plagiarism. Accepted papers will be
published in the conference proceedings. Selected best papers may be published as an
edited book with ISBN. Author’s copyright declaration is mandatory.
Submission Guidlines
Article should be typed in MS-Word in Times New Roman font with 12 point font
size in single spacing. An abstract for full paper (within 500 words strictly) must be
submitted by 30 th Aug’ 2015. Author(s) shall be intimated through email about the
acceptance latest by 10 th Sep’ 2015. Author(s) are requested to submit brief resume and
a colored photograph along with the full-text of paper till 30 th Sep’ 2015. It is
mandatory to register at least one of the author(s) to attend the conference for
presenting the accepted paper(s).
Only the research papers, presented during the conference by any one author, will be
published in conference proceedings which will be provided within one month of the
end of the conference.
Registration:
All the participants are required to register on or before the closing date as seats and available accommodation in the campus are limited. Accommodation will be provided on twin sharing basis only.

Registration fee covers conference kit, conference proceedings, breakfast, working
lunch, conference dinner, Tea and local transport. Accompanying persons shall not be
entitled for conference kit and proceedings. All payment should be made through
demand draft/cheque only drawn in favour of Registrar, Indian Institute of
Technology Roorkee. Pleases end the Registration Fee along with filled-in form to the
Organizing Secretary (by name).
Boarding & Lodging Arrangements
The arrangement for lodging and boarding for participants will be made in Institute's
Guest Houses/Hostels strictly on twin sharing basis from 21 st 0ct. 2015 (A/N) to 24 th
Oct (F/N) on first-come-first-serve basis only. Those who are willing to stay for extended
days will have to make their bookings in advance and applicable boarding/lodging
charges will be borne by the participant. Accommodation for extended days will be
provided only on availability.
Roorkee
Roorkee is situated at the foothill of Himalayas, has picturesque landscape blessed with
holy Ganga canal and is the gateway to world famous four pilgrimages Badrinath,
Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri and tourist places of Haridwar, Rishikesh, Valley of
Flowers, Dehradun, Mussoorie etc.
The Weather:
In October, weather of Roorkee usually remains pleasant and comfortable.
Participant may plan to visit nearby places on post conference weekend days.
How to Reach Us:
Roorkee is directly connected by rail/roadways to Delhi, Bombay, Lucknow,
Calcutta, and Amritsar. Regular bus and taxi services are available from ISBT Delhi and
takes about 5 hours from Delhi to Roorkee. Nearest airport is Jollygrant, Dehradun
and IGI, New Delhi. Its distance from Delhi is about 180 km and 90 km from
Dehradun.

Mahatma Gandhi Central Library
The MGCL of the Institute finds a unique place in the academic library scenario in this
part of the world. It is an amalgamation of the classic and the modern. While it is one
of the oldest academic libraries in country, it is housed in a state-of-the-art ultra-
moderncentrally air-conditioned building equipped with all latest ICT facilities
including surveillance system, RFID technology, seamless wi-fi access connectivity,
imaging center etc. Library has been aesthetically designed keeping in view comfort for
cozy access and intelligent use by all kinds of users.
The Library contains around 4 lacs documents in print in its collection. It’s e-resource
collection is very robust which comprises of 15,000+ current e-journals, 2 lacs+ back
volumes of e-journals, 2 lacs+ standards and patents, 2 Million theses and dissertations
(including ProQuest database), 35,000+ e-books, and Access to World eBook Library
(WeL).

Indian Institute of Technology
IIT Roorkee ranks among the oldest engineering education in the world. It was
established in the year 1847 as Roorkee College of Civil Engineering mainly to train
native engineers for the ongoing Ganges Canal. This was renamed as Thomason
College of Civil Engineering in the memory of its founder James Thomason in 1854.
Thomason College was again converted to Thomason College of Engineering in 1945.
A wider role for the Thomason College was envisaged after the Independence in 1947.
Pt. Nehru, the first Prime Minister, therefore, converted this Mecca of Engineers into
University of Roorkee (UOR) on 25 th November 1949. University has converted to
IIT Roorkee during 2001 after creation of Uttarakhand state.
The Institute offers Bachelor's Degree courses in 10 disciplines of Engineering and
Architecture and Postgraduate's Degree in 55 disciplines of Engineering, Applied
Science, Architecture and planning. The Institute has facility for doctoral work in all
Departments and Research Centers.
